Quick verdict

The role decides the winner.

EBO Air 2S is the practical choice now because the current US-plug version is available and it improves camera resolution, battery capacity, recording time, and movement time. EBO Air 2 remains the smaller and lower-priced reference point, but its current official listing is out of stock.

Choose Enabot EBO Air 2 if

  • You find remaining official or authorized stock at a price well below the Air 2S
  • The smaller 95 mm body matters more than maximum image detail or battery capacity
  • You only need 2K video and shorter remote sessions

Decision analysis

Air 2S improves the camera and battery without changing the core job.

Both models are app-controlled mobile cameras designed for pet and family check-ins. Both can drive around a level floor, provide two-way audio, record, use night viewing, and return to an automatic dock. The Air 2S does not turn the product into a stair-safe autonomous security system.

The upgrade is measurable: 2.5K rather than 2K video, a 5,000 mAh rather than 2,450 mAh battery, and longer documented standby or recording time. Those differences matter most when the robot will be used repeatedly between charges or when small image details are important.

The Air 2 is smaller, while the Air 2S needs a wider route.

EBO Air 2 is 95 mm square and 89.2 mm tall. Air 2S grows to 116 mm square and 111 mm tall and weighs 560 g. Measure low furniture, dock space, narrow passages, and thresholds rather than assuming the upgraded model fits every path used by the smaller robot.

Neither size should be left to discover stairs, balconies, water, cables, or unstable drop-offs alone. Test the complete dock route in person and use physical barriers around real hazards.

Current availability makes the Air 2S easier to recommend than the price gap suggests.

The official EBO Air 2 page currently shows a $149 price but is out of stock. The Air 2S US-plug variant is currently available at $299. A discontinued-looking low price is not a usable purchase option unless stock returns or a trusted retailer has inventory.

If Air 2 returns at $149, it can still be the value choice for shorter sessions and basic mobile viewing. At current official availability, Air 2S is the model that can actually be ordered and has the stronger hardware specification.
