A moving robot needs its phone to stay put.
You snap your phone onto LOOI, then the ring on the phone begins to shift or release. That turns a playful desk companion into a setup you have to watch closely. One recent owner described this happening, although other owners may have no issue at all.
Imagine clipping a slim frame onto a compatible bare phone before a LOOI session, then taking it off when you need your everyday phone back. The frame would put a ring in the same place each time without a sticker on the phone. Fit, magnetic hold and charging have not been tested.

That has not been proven. GripFrame is an unbuilt concept intended to address the ring peeling from the phone. It may not help if the magnet-to-robot connection is weak, the phone is too heavy or LOOI itself tips. Continue supervising LOOI near desk edges.
Will it fit my phone and still charge wirelessly?
No model has been validated yet. The first tests would cover selected ordinary slab phones within LOOI's guidance, checking camera and button clearance, coil alignment, charging and heat. Folding phones and tablets are outside the proposed first version.
Could I just buy another magnetic ring?
Yes. LOOI support currently suggests a stronger 55 × 55 mm adhesive ring, and several inexpensive rings exist. GripFrame would only be worth making if removing the phone-side adhesive joint provides a meaningful advantage for your exact setup.
Can I buy it now? What does joining mean?
No. GripFrame is an independent HomeRobotHQ concept, not for sale or reservation. Joining records your interest and permission for possible concept updates. It does not commit you to buy, guarantee a launch or lock in a price.
What still needs to be tested?
- GripFrame is an unbuilt independent concept, not for sale or reservation and not endorsed by LOOI or TangibleFuture.
- No phone model, head fit, magnetic hold, fall protection, wireless charging or temperature performance has been validated. It would not make unattended desktop roaming safe.
- The first concept excludes folding phones, tablets and phones outside LOOI's guidance. The robot, phone and charger are not included; a stronger replacement ring or good case may already be enough.
