MicPath / For Reachy Mini ↗
MicPath is a proposed repair pack for a confirmed damaged Reachy Mini microphone ribbon. The design goal is two model-checked spare cables, protective packaging and a simple orientation guide to make the part-sourcing step easier. It is an unbuilt concept, not for sale.

Sound familiar?
Reachy Mini's head moves, its camera works, and its speaker plays, yet the microphone captures nothing. Pollen's troubleshooting guide helps you check software, firmware and cable position. If the ribbon is actually damaged, you still need a suitable spare and a careful swap.
Imagine opening one clearly labeled pack after a confirmed cable diagnosis. The correct ribbon would be protected from bending, with a second spare and a short visual reminder of contact orientation. You would still follow Pollen's official power-off and repair instructions.

These are proposed benefits to test against ordering a generic cable. No repair outcome or compatibility has been demonstrated.

A visual contact-side reference could support the official repair instructions without replacing them.
A flat sleeve could keep a backup ribbon from being bent or misplaced between repairs.
Picture the routine
Here is how the proposed design would fit into your day.
Use Pollen's current troubleshooting to rule out settings, firmware and a simply mis-seated cable.
If the ribbon is confirmed damaged, a future MicPath pack could provide a protected replacement and a second spare with a clear orientation reference.
With the robot off and unplugged, follow Pollen's official head-opening and replacement guide, then test microphone capture before reassembly.

Want to explore the evidence or build something like this?
Read the Reachy Mini product idea report ↗No. A silent microphone can have software, firmware, connector, board or other causes. MicPath is proposed only for a confirmed damaged ribbon after current Pollen troubleshooting. The pack has not been tested on a real robot.
Yes. Pollen's repair tutorial links to a generic 12-pin cable sold by Farnell. MicPath would need to make matching, handling and keeping a spare meaningfully easier than that inexpensive option.
That is a design goal, not a verified claim. The original ribbon, revision and connector path must be measured on both versions first. Public copies of the guide disagree on cable length, so no finished specification is promised.
No. MicPath is an independent HomeRobotHQ concept, not endorsed by Pollen Robotics, not for sale and not a substitute for manufacturer support or warranty service.
