DockGlow / For Loona ↗

Light the dock, not the whole room.

DockGlow is a proposed clip-on light for Loona's existing charging station. It is designed to illuminate the station's visual marker when its corner is dim, without changing Loona or rewiring the dock. This is an unbuilt concept, not for sale.

  • Focused light for the dock marker
  • Keep the room light off
  • Keep the original charger

Sound familiar?

Does Loona reach the dock, then struggle in a dim corner?

Loona may get close to its charger yet have trouble recognizing or lining up with the station in low light. You can turn on a room light or move the dock, but that may not fit how your home is arranged. Other return-to-charge failures have different causes.

Set up KEYi's recharge routes and place the dock as recommended. If dim marker visibility is the remaining issue, a future DockGlow could clip onto the original station and light that small area while the rest of the room stays as it is.

Designed with your day in mind

A small light designed for one awkward charging spot.

These are design goals for a future accessory. No improvement in docking has been demonstrated.

01

A clearer target in a dim corner

Focused diffused light is intended to make the existing dock marker easier to see; this effect has not been demonstrated on Loona.

02

Less whole-room lighting

The proposed local light could let owners keep an overhead light off when the charging corner needs illumination.

03

Keep the charger you have

A removable clip is designed to use the original station without rewiring or replacing it; actual dock compatibility still needs measurement.

Picture the routine

Keep the familiar dock. Light its marker.

Here is how the proposed design would fit into your day.

  1. 01

Set up Loona's official recharge routes and give its dock a clear, stable location.

  2. 02

If dim marker visibility still seems to be the issue, a future DockGlow could clip to a compatible original dock and light its visual target with a cable kept behind the station.

  3. 03

Observe whether Loona reaches, recognizes and makes charging contact. A light would not correct route, floor, wheel or hardware problems.

Where should we send updates if this idea moves forward?

If your Loona reaches the dock but struggles in a dim spot, would a ready-to-use marker light at a $24 target price feel worthwhile compared with a room light or generic USB lamp?

Read the Loona product idea report ↗
Will DockGlow make Loona return from anywhere in the house?

No. KEYi's route setup, clear dock space, stable floor and a functioning robot still matter. This concept targets only the possibility that dim marker visibility is limiting near-dock recognition or alignment.

Can I try something free first?

Yes. Follow KEYi's current Auto Recharge 2.0 and dock-placement guidance, then try a room light or another bright, contrasting dock location. A generic USB lamp may also work. DockGlow would need to offer a clearer, easier routine to justify buying it.

Does the robot or charging dock come with it?

No. The proposed first product is only a removable light for a compatible original Loona dock. Exact dock fit, power supply, safety and performance have not been tested.

Is DockGlow made by KEYi, and can I buy it now?

No. It is an independent, unbuilt HomeRobotHQ concept, not endorsed by KEYi and not for sale. Joining the interest list allows possible updates and does not commit you to buy.

What still needs to be tested?
  • DockGlow is an independent unbuilt concept, not for sale, reservation or KEYi endorsement. No compatibility, safe temperature or improved docking result has been demonstrated.
  • It targets a possible near-dock visibility issue on a compatible original dock. It cannot create routes across rooms, repair hardware, overcome unsuitable flooring or guarantee charging.
  • The charging dock, Loona robot and power adapter are not promised as included. Final components, availability and price are undecided; owners should try official setup and free lighting changes first.
