SoftCheek / For Ropet KAMOMO ↗

A softer touch for your Ropet.

Love Ropet's fur, but wish its face felt softer too? SoftCheek is a proposed textile surround for the cheeks and lower face. It is designed to keep the original mask, with the eyes and camera left open.

  • Intended for one measured KAMOMO mask version first; fit is not yet verified.
  • One textile-faced surround and a fitting/care card; robot and original mask supplied separately.
  • Removable design, with no glue applied to your robot.

A textile lower-face surround is shown beside a schematic Ropet, then in its proposed position for a gentle cheek stroke; no tested fit or robot reaction is depicted.

Sound familiar?

The fur feels lovely. Then your hand meets the faceplate.

If the change from plush fur to a harder face interrupts the feel you enjoy, another fur color may not be what you need. You want a softer place for a gentle cheek stroke.

Picture a low-profile textile surround that follows the lower face, then lifts off when you want the original look. Ropet keeps its expressions; you choose the texture you touch.

Designed with your day in mind

Keep the expression. Change the feel.

A small accessory designed for the part of the face your hand meets, while keeping Ropet's existing features accessible.

01

A softer cheek stroke

Short-pile textile is designed to change the feel where your hand meets the lower face.

02

The face you know

An open design keeps the original mask and is intended to leave its expressive eyes and camera accessible.

03

Change your mind, change the look

A removable surround lets you return to the original surface and take the accessory off for care.

Picture the routine

Fit it for a softer touch. Lift it off for care.

Here is how the proposed design would fit into your day.

  1. 01

Check the intended mask version and turn Ropet off before fitting.

  2. 02

Position the connected surround around the original mask. Check that the eyes, camera and upper aperture are clear, and that the mask is seated.

  3. 03

Try gentle supervised touch. Lift off the entire surround for cleaning, and refit only when completely dry.

What would I get?

One connected carrier with a short-pile textile surface across the cheeks and lower face, plus a fitting and care card. It would fit around your existing mask. Ropet, the mask and a replacement fur are not included.

Would it fit my KAMOMO?

The first version would target one measured standard mask. Earlier units, Pro/Basic configurations and shaped seasonal masks must be checked separately. The fitting clips, magnetic seating and movement clearances have not been validated.

Would the eyes and camera stay visible?

That is a design requirement. The surround leaves the eye openings, central camera area and small upper aperture open. Actual field of view, expressions, touch response and heat must be checked on hardware before claiming compatibility.

Would the entire face become plush?

No. The proposed textile covers the cheeks and lower surround, leaving the central and upper face exposed. It does not add touch sensors or change Ropet's reactions. The main question is whether this smaller soft area feels worthwhile.

How would I clean it?

The whole surround would come off for cleaning away from the robot. A material-specific care method still needs testing; Ropet's wipe-clean mask guidance does not automatically apply to the textile. Never wash the robot or reinstall a damp part.

Are there alternatives I should try first?

Yes. The original mask may already feel fine to you, and Ropet sells replacement masks and seasonal outfits. Compare those first. SoftCheek is intended for owners specifically seeking a textile touch surface, rather than another color or character.

What still needs to be tested?
  • Intended mask fit, retention and sensor/motion clearance have not been checked on hardware.
  • The textile covers the cheeks and lower face, not the whole mask; care and durability need development.
